I Love Books

Im playing with watercolours at the moment. I love how soft and quick they are to work with.
The weather has been very gloomy. Continuous rain and a strong wind that howls through the building. So I'm huddled up on the couch watching Charmed, dreaming of pretty things and chocolate pudding pie

Etsy Obsession- The Black Spot Books

Ive been very bad at posting lately so I thought I'd quickly share with you another Etsy love of mine, The black spot books.
I have been an admirer of this shop for quite some time. It is so beautiful just to look at. The banner and photos are beautifully layed out with a strong atmosphere. I highly recommend  popping in for a browse.
My personal favorite at the moment are the little book earrings, they make me think of Harry Potter.

New Finds And Snipets Of My Space

I have been a bad little blogger lately and im sorry for the decline in posts. I have been trying to work hard at producing some products and making preparations for my etsy store. There's just so much swirling around in my head, some days it feels like its going to pop.

Mum brought me The Handmade Marketplace It's a really great book filled with useful tips and the beautiful illustrations of Emily Martin (the black apple). I have been reading up  and steadily working my way towards opening shop. But Im a perfectionist,  I want everything to be perfect and I too easily keep get caught up in the details. My partner is always telling me off.
I'll keep you posted as things get closer.
Wishing you a wonderful weekend.

I Love Bento Boxes

Bento are Japanese home packaged or takeaway meals. They generally consist of rice, fish, meat and vegetables. There are many different varieties but favourite ones are those that are arranged to look like cute little animals and characters. I really wish that my school lunches had looked as yummy and adorable. There are so many cute little bento boxes that you can buy to package these lunches as well as adorable tools to create and decorate them.
I myself have not had the pleasure of eating one but I have been very tempted to buy my own bento box and tools so as I can create my own. Today I came across this awesome book called 'Yum-yum Bento Box' on Modcloth,  want it soo much.

Have you had a bento box before?

Books

I finally gave in to the urge to rummage through my local thrift stores. Sadly they weren't as good as I had hoped. I did not find any nice fabrics or clothes but one in particular has a great selection of furniture and books. The main book in which I was searching for (Wuthering Heights) was not there but I discovered a giant pile of books which I was very tempted to take home. I adore books and do enjoy collecting them but I have so many which I have still not read so I felt naughty carting home another pile which would most likely sit there unread. There was this series of classics for young readers which I simply could not leave behind. They were a mere $4 and looked so nice. They are also full of beautiful illustrations.
So now I have another 16 stories to read.
Little Women
Tales of Poe
Mutiny on the Bounty
Messer Marco Pol
The Hunchback of Notre Dame
Great Cases of Sherlock Holmes
Abe Lincoln Grows Up
Lost Horizon
Treasure Island
David Copperfield
The Call of the Wild
Madame Curie
The Happy Return
Jane Eyre
My Friend Flicka
Alone

Disproportionate

Oh how I love the tale of Miss Alice in wonderland. I am currently reading my newly brought edition of Alice in Wonderland illustrated by Rodney Mathews. The illustrations are amazing. So detailed and unusual.

Ive always had a soft spot for Alice themed items, but there seems to be an over kill with everyone playing off the movie hype. But never the less I have been considering creating an Alice inspired outfit.

While browsing the shops today I came across this range of Alice in Wonderland bobble heads which I fell in love with. Bobble heads have never really been my thing but I found the white rabbit just adorable. So Ive been dropping a couple of hints suggesting that I wouldn't mind him as a future gift. : P

Here are a few other Alice images  that I love
