Art That Inspires Me - Amy Sol

Apologies for my long absence. So much has been happening and my poor little blog has been neglected. I've been working, getting sick and getting better, I turned 22, I moved house and I've also been up to the usual dreaming, drawing, sewing and procrastinating. But I am back and here to share with you one of the loveliest artists who ever lived. Miss Amy Sol.

Art That Inspires Me- Kukula

I have admired the work of Kukula for quite sometime now. She is a very talented artist. If you haven't seen her work before I highly recommend checking out her lovely website.

Her work is a mixture of beauty and despair. Doll-like characters lost in their dreamscapes.

Art That Inspires Me- Kim Yong Hee

I am in love with the artwork of Kim Yong Hee. She is a Korean illustrator who has done previous work as a character designer. She mostly commercialises her illustrations for T-shirts, stationary and other products.
She has a really beautiful style. Her colours and characters are just lovely.
The handpainted guitar is amazing, I'd love to try painting my own.

Art That Inspires Me- Mark Ryden

I find Mark Rydens art to be of great inspiration, especially his paintings from The Tree Show. One of my favourites in the pop surrealist field. He possesses masterful technique and wit. Each painting is so rich and vibrant, full of colour and symbolism. Dewy vixens, cuddly plush animals, alchemical symbols, religious emblems, landscapes, Lincoln and slabs of meat are reoccurring elements in his work.He is definitely one to check out.

His little girls and their 50's style outfits are just too cute

Art That Inspires Me- Rob Ryan

My mum recently introduced me to the work of Rob Ryan. She gave me a cute tea towel with one of his images screen printed on it. Its just to pretty to use in the kitchen so it's hanging on my wall for now.

I have always been a big fan of  the art of paper cutting, with it's intricate details and beautiful silhouettes. Today's paper cutting is much more cute and quirky than older styles (although I do still love them to).

To be honest when I first saw Rob Ryan's work I thought that it was by  female as it looks very feminine to me. His work is very beautiful. It is filled with themes of love, happy couples, beautiful messages and the cutest little borders.
If your interested in seeing more of his work you can find him here on his website, etsy or his blog.

Art That Inspires Me- silversaga

I found silversaga's photography through flickr. I love her work it's so light and dreamy.
Her rooms series is also really amazing, very eerie with its ghosty whisps.

I'm really loving these soft blues and pinks at the moment, going to go and hunt down some soft dreamy fabrics.

Art That Inspires Me- Liza Corbett

Liza Corbett  is an amazing artist who I stumbled across recently through flickr. Her drawings are beautiful yet eerie.
There is a strong use of line in Liza's work that attracts me, it gives her images a sense of drama. The colours and imagery are just amazing! She is a very tallented artist and I find her work very inspirational.
